The 8-Step Path
From creation to celebration — the complete journey of an unpublished work
1. Creation
An unpublished work exists — a manuscript, a score, a painting, a recording, a film. It was created by a Romanian author or someone with Romanian roots, but has not yet reached the public.
2. Nomination
Anyone can nominate a creation: the author themselves, a family member, a friend, a colleague. Nomination is done through our online form and includes details about the work and author.
3. Consent
The author is contacted by our team. A tripartite agreement (Conditions Agreement) is signed between the Initiative, the Cultural Evaluator, and the Author/Nominator, establishing the terms of evaluation.
4. Objective Evaluation
The Cultural Evaluation Council analyzes the work using the Pugh Matrix methodology with 5 weighted criteria: cultural significance, originality, preservation urgency, completeness, and ethical/legal clearance.
5. Decision
Based on aggregate scores, a decision is made: publication, archival for preservation, re-evaluation, or reasoned rejection. The author is informed at every step.
6. Partnerships
For selected works, we seek publishing partners: publishing houses, recording studios, galleries, film producers. We negotiate on behalf of the author, but they always decide.
7. Publication
The work reaches the public through the chosen partner — printed, recorded, exhibited, or digitally distributed. The author is credited and promoted.
8. Celebration
Every publication is a cultural victory. We organize launch events, recognition at the annual RUF Gala, and promotion across our partner network.
